7 Places In Georgia You Need To Visit — Wandering Georgian

Providence Canyon

Formed by poor farming practices Providence Canyon is like a miniature Grand Canyon. From loose sandy soil and years of improper irrigation strategies the ground began to erode away leaving large canyon like walls. On the drive to Providence it is easy to see how loose the soil was from the lack of grass near the highway and roads to the park. The trails aren't very long but the terrain is mind blowing. Finishing the hike around sunset was a great way to end a hot summer hike.

Radium Springs, Albany Georgia

Originally known as Blue Springs, Radium Springs was a trip to remember. Around the 20's Northerners would stop here to gamble and hang in the year round 68 degree water. Being one of the biggest springs in Georgia I had to make a trip out there. Even though it dumps thousands of gallons into the Flint River sometimes throughout the year it will be a little more dry than others. When I went it was a little shallow, so maybe try to visit around Spring or rainy season, but it was still an awesome trip. The Flint River Museum was definitely a stop I would make again. There is a quant little town right by it with shops, a public art gallery that was sadly closed when I made it to town, and a riverside deck and field. Overall Radiums Springs is a place to see in Georgia.

Labyrinth of Rome

Even though it looks like a maze a Labyrinth's purpose is to free the mind of everyday stresses and focus your mind one simply whats in front of you. Usually in Rome, Italy I was amazed to find one in Rome, Georgia. Ironic as all get out I know. Not far from me I will sneak away and wander around the path freeing my mind of everyday life. The ladies that work in the visitors center are cool as well. With tips on places to eat and other stops around town.

Tallulah Gorge

One of the more popular stops on my list but still a favorite. From a suspension bridge to the thousands of stairs this was a place like no other in Georgia. Bring your camera and be prepared to climb up and down a ton of stairs!

North Georgia Canopy Tour

Sunflower Field, Cumming Georgia

Located in Cumming, Georgia there is somewhat of a secret sunflower field that is something else. I've been in plenty of farm fields but no sunflower field. At first I was a little sketched out by the amount of bees but like my parents always said, "You don't bother them, they won't bother you." The sunflowers were on average taller than 6ft with picture perfect coloring to them. There was around a half mile of walking around you could do with an old barn and nicely painted tractor in the mix. If you live even somewhat near the Cumming area I would definitely check it out in July. It's only $10 to get in for anyone unless you plan to take professional pictures, then it's $30-$40. They also have sunflowers for sale from the fields.
